Plain English, and it describes what the service actually does.
The data controller is Platinum Capital Holdings Ltd, trading as Plan Alerts, registered in England and Wales, company number 17082620, registered office 128 Innovation House, City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. Contact privacy@planalerts.co.uk.
We do not ask for anything else, and we do not buy or sell personal data about homeowners, tradespeople or anyone else.
The applications on this site come from council planning registers, which councils are required to publish. Those listings sometimes include a name or an address. We keep only what the council published, we link back to the council listing, and we do not host application documents. If you are connected to an application and want its listing taken off this site, see request removal.
For your account, alerts and payments: performing the contract you signed up for. For keeping records of sales and tax: legal obligation. For publishing planning information and for keeping the service secure and working: our legitimate interests. Marketing emails, if we ever send them, go only to people who asked for them, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
Only the suppliers that make the service work: our hosting and database provider, our email sending provider, and our payment processor. They act on our instructions. We also use an AI provider to write the short plain-English summary of an application; only the public application text is sent, never your personal details.
Your account details for as long as you have an account, and for up to 12 months afterwards in case you come back. Payment and invoice records for six years, because tax law requires it. Planning applications for about two years, because older jobs are no longer useful leads.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete your account, object to a particular use, or ask us to stop emailing you. Email privacy@planalerts.co.uk and we will deal with it within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle it you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
We use only what is needed to keep you signed in and to remember the area you last looked at. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking on this site.
