Official description

Refer to J1560 TS 20240917 Land adj to Sherecroft House.PDF - tree condition and hazard survey with site plan and photographs. G1 sycamore - Remove trees (tags 1639, 1640 and 2 untagged trees, 1641 to 1645 and three untagged trees) with declining canopies - reason: to remove the hazard of falling trees and branches and to allow adjacent trees to develop. Remove deadwood over the car parking area - reason: to reduce the risk of harm or damage. G2 sycamore - Remove sycamore (tags 1646 to 1655, 7 untagged trees with declining canopies) and elm and to allow trees of better form to develop. T3 lime - coppice. G4 Oak, sycamore, horse chestnut, lime, birch, laurel, holly, hawthorn, elm - Remove self set sycamore with stem diameter of less than 30cm at 1.3m height (DBH) - reason: to remove competing trees from preferred trees and to allow increased light to the outgrown garden 'floor' to allow the herbaceous layer to develop. Remove trees within 3m of the canopy spread of oaks with a DBH greater than 50cm - reason: to allow sufficient space for the preferred trees to develop and maintain dominance within the outgrown garden area. Tree works relates to trees tagged with tags 1656 to 1694. Remove elm and treat to prevent regrowth. Reduce laurel to 0.5m height - reason: to remove competing laurel from preferred plants and to allow increased light to the outgrown garden 'floor' to allow the herbaceous layer to develop. Plant 5m wide British native hedge planting around perimeter of under managed area to improve biodiversity and habitat - reason: to protect the garden environment and increase biodiversity. Treat Japanese knotweed and Himalayan balsam in undermanaged area - reason: to remove an invasive species and to allow the herbaceous layer to develop. Treat removed sycamore to prevent regrowth.
