Application to crown reduce 1no Poplar tree (T1) of up to 3m of tree preservation order 61 (00.8.5.78) Undertake a crown reduction of up to 3 metres to reduce the overall height and spread of the tree, particularly towards the road junction and bus stop. The tree has a historic buttress wound showing signs of decay, which may continue to develop and compromise its structural integrity. Poplar is also known for its relatively weak timber characteristics, with previous limb failure already evident within this tree. Given the tree's lean towards the road junction and its proximity to a frequently used bus stop, the target value and potential consequences of failure are considered significant. A crown reduction of up to 3 metres is recommended to reduce the weight and leverage exerted on the main stem, buttress and structural limbs, thereby reducing the likelihood of failure while retaining the tree. All works are to be carried out in accordance with BS 3998:2010 ? Tree Work: Recommendations, using appropriate pruning techniques to maintain the tree's natural form and structural integrity.
